Happy Valentine’s Day (+ My Love Lesson)

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Whether you’re swinging single and ready to mingle, in a healthy or complicated relationship, engaged, or married, may you have a day filled with love and joy!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and dedication to love we should always aspire to have healthy relationships. These are the relationships that support mutual communication, love, respect, growth, trust and espouse warmth to always yearn to come back to.

Relationships should never be about control.  And…

Abuse has no place in any relationship at all! Though, should you find yourself in an unhealthy abusive relationship, help is available. Reach out to us or check these helplines.

Love does not hurt.

Something I have learned from my experience of falling in love that has helped me to be a better advocate for a safe world for all, is that love is Equity. Equity means respect for all without any biases.

I’ve grown to believe that if we all respect each other then love will prevail leading to happiness and healthy relationships. Gender based violence will have no place amongst us.

I hope that your Valentine supports your goals and listens respectfully to you, rather than being overly jealous and always needing to track where you are.

So, what did you learn from your Valentine?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Wish you lots of love,

Edith
