Billions of women and girls still face digital abuse without meaningful legal protection, and the systems meant to safeguard them are still far behind the realities of digital harm. Today marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, and this year’s call is urgent and clear. We must end digital violence against all women and girls. Online abuse is real violence. If it silences her, shames her or stops her from showing up, the harm is already done.
